Greensboro College's UAAS: Today & Tomorrow

2002-2003 Members of UAAS

Today and Tomorrow Today

The United African American Society "strives to encourage appreciation of the African American culture and to unite the student body of Greensboro College. The UAAS promotes the success and prosperity of African American students through various campus events, collaboration with other colleges and universities, and community service." [2002-03 Student Handbook] The UAAS seeks to expose the campus community to African-American culture and perspectives through a variety of events and activities such as an annual "Step Show" and "Issues Nights." In recent years, the UAAS has become increasingly visible on campus and has received several awards, among those "Most Outstanding Club" and "Best Co-Sponsored Show" for the Step Show. Tomorrow, and in the future, the UAAS hope to continue to grow and become a more integral part of the campus community by actively recruiting new members and by working to establish collaborative ties with other campus and community organizations.
