Armfield Shortly before her retirement in 1969, Miss Mary wrote: "The day should never dawn when an alumna feels that she no longer has a part to play in the life of her college. During all of these years in the alumni work I have tried to emphasize that through interested participation in the work and activities of the Alumni Association in the promotion of the interests of the college, alumni can keep their picture of the college up to date and be a force for good for their college." Miss Mary was very astute in her observation that interested participation is a necessary component for success, and her observation holds true regardless of whether one is talking about the Alumni Association or the museum.
