WHAT IS IT?

The prize for the November 2002 "WHAT IS IT?" goes to Jennie Hunt, reference librarian at the College's library.

Pictured above is a print of the architect's original plan for the reconstruction of Main Building (3rd) after the fire of 1904. The plan was to have a small rotunda on each side of the central rotunda. Lack of funds prevented the completion of such a plan, and only the central rotunda was constructed.
